Musicians are so engrossed in what they are doing they don’t even notice me drawing them. This evening was magical. The night I drew this moon there were forty – mile and hour winds blowing through the campsite. The players keep on playing, late into the night. The next morning it was beautiful and the fiddlers were out playing.

Drawing from life is the best.
Friends playing music together is a time to listen but also sketch a bit. The barbershop has an old time look and everyone fits together like a puzzle, each playing their parts in turn. The position of the players and their hands on the fingerboards was a puzzle to put into a painting.
